Eco-gardening: Tips for a truly 'green' garden (...Continued)
You already have most of the nutrients your garden will need - in your kitchen and garden waste. How can I go to the compost pile to create a rich soil, to return to your garden. Keep all grass clippings, leaves, kitchen waste and turn this free source of nutrients for plants in the garden of gold.
Peat has long been used to enrich soils, save it and increase the retention of aerated water. But as soon as the peat bogs have been harvested, they are gone forever. Talk to your garden center about alternatives such as coir (coconut fiber), which is composed of sawdust or rice hulls, straw or woodchips.
And one of the simplest alternatives to peat for free - just save the leaves from the trees in your compost in the fall and turn into a sheet form. The leaves take about a year to compost is rich in humus and to add bulk and texture of your soil.
Common pests and how to control them
Insecticides, herbicides and fungicides carry a variety of health risks and does not discriminate between pests and beneficial insects and plants. What can we use instead?
Here are some sound solutions to common garden pests:
• Spider mites and aphids: Knock them out of your plants with a strong stream of water. Repeat three or four days later to remove dead. If some remain, spray plants with soapy water. And if you plant a border of alyssum, it will attract insects, which are aphids for you.
• Codling moth larvae: If you have fruit trees in the middle of July Wrap the strips of corrugated cardboard or burlap around the sections of tree trunks to capture the codling caterpillars hatching silkworm. And bird feeders. The birds love to feast them, and would prefer them to your channel.
• Slugs: One of the easiest methods to control slugs is to leave opoyasok beer or water with sugar and yeast in it in order to attract and drown them.

Eco-gardening: Tips for a truly 'green' garden
1.Conserve water
2.Choose plants wisely
3.Compost garden and kitchen waste
How to reduce the need for water
There are several easy ways you can conserve water.
• Water early in the day or late at night so you lose as little water as possible to evaporation.
• Use soaker hoses instead of sprinklers or apply directly from a watering can. This waters root systems instead of plant leaves, where water will evaporate.
• Water deeply, but infrequently. This encourages roots to grow deeper, which better enables them to survive dry months.
• Mulch. Whether you use organic material or gravel, this helps soil retain moisture.
• Use rain barrels to catch runoff from your roof. You can run a soaker hose from the bottom of the barrel to irrigate a nearby section of your garden.
• Recycle "grey" water from your bath if you use biodegradable soap.
How to choose plants
Choosing the right plants and picking the right location for them is key to conserving water. Ask your gardening centre to help you select plants that won't need watering past the adolescent stage, when the root system is established. Perennials chosen carefully to suit the location and soil should be able to survive long dry periods without water.
Grass lawns are always thirsty, require significant weeding (or chemicals) to stay weed-free and are labour-intensive. If you plant ground covers that need less watering and less maintenance, you'll have more time to enjoy your garden.

EARTH DAY 2009 : let's help the earth
Instead, focus on areas where your actions will maximize the difference. Changes that you eat as you around, and how to use energy at home (and work) will have the greatest impact on the planet.
This does not mean that things do not lay down. They do, but some more than others.
Do not emphasize these three classic choices because they do not make much difference:
Cloth or disposable diapers? All the diapers have an impact on the environment. Disposable diapers are often bleached with chlorine (a very polluting process), and eventually, eventually clogging up landfills. Cloth diapers are usually made from conventional cotton, and require energy, water, and (sometimes) harsh detergents to wash them. There are more environmentally friendly alternatives such as organic cotton cloth diapers and disposables to abandon chlorine, chlorinated lime, but in general, one choice is better than others so pick something that is convenient for you.
Paper or plastic bag? Like diapers, it's a toss up. Production of paper bags is the energy and water intensive. Plastic bags are made from petroleum and can cause harm to wildlife, when they make their way into large water bodies. Unlike diapers, there is another choice you can do: Carry your own reusable bag when you can. Not your thing? Reuse or recycle that bag when you're done with it and move on to another.
Disposable cups or ceramic mugs? This is not a "major sin against the environment to use separate paper or plastic cup," according to the Consumer Guide to effective environmental choices: Practical Advice from the Union of Concerned Scientists. The group said throwing cups occupy little space in landfills and do not require much energy to make. But he said you should not be wasteful, simply because "a few dozen (or even several hundred) disposable cups a year will have little impact on the environment." The result? Use a mug that, when possible (especially at work or at home), but do not feel guilty when you can not.
Instead, the attention of your time and energy on these more important events that will benefit the planet and save your money:
Eat less meat. Livestock is one of the most significant contributors to the long list of environmental problems resulting from climate change to deforestation to water pollution. No one offers you go vegetarian, but all you can do to cut back on meat will be of great importance. Start by trimming its share of about three ounces (the size of a deck of playing cards), suggested Aaron Huertas of the Union of Concerned Scientists.
Take good care of your car. Tuning your engine by replacing your air filter and motor oil on a regular basis, as well as maintaining proper inflated tires will improve your car in fuel economy by 8% to 20%, according to Jenny Powers at the Natural Resources Defense.
Make changes in how you do your laundry. Wash clothes in cold water. Up to 90 percent of energy used for washing clothes goes to heating water, according to the Ministry of Energy. Rack even greater savings on air-drying, some of your clothes.
Want to do more (or something else)?
All you can do to drive, or the difference will be less effective. Bundle of assignments, online shop, stroll, bike and take public transport when you can. Try carpooling or telecommuting one day a week. When it came time to buy a new car, buy the most fuel-efficient vehicles in the class of car you want.
There are countless ways you can save energy (and money) at home. Here's a short list of free and inexpensive ways to make a difference (in order from least to most exposure): to the unnecessary lights, unplug the extra refrigerator, use of energy-saving mode devices, install a programmable thermostat, seal large air leaks, or add insulation to your attic.

Use water for car fuel (Water Power Car)
Herman is used because only a single cell, I think you have to do the 3 cells wired in series such as Archie Blue Peter Dingel and design. Application - 3-4 "in diameter. SS tube 8" long (cells) by welding. Put your SS number plates within each cell. gas lines coming out of high value through a check at the bottom of the next cell. Use rubber stoppers ends with hose clamps so that if he ever blows blowing off the tops and the water is drained and explosion is more lenient with.
You need more hydrogen molecules grouped together as time passes by 3 cells in the fuel injection propane IMPCO carburetor. SAE is in gasoline, higher octane (hydrochloric acid, ortho) before entering the chamber fuel injection. first H2 O, and O2 and O4 and H4 then H8? Who is the math here? I'm not him. Peter can tell you.
There are para-ortho-hydrogen and hydrogen molecules. Ortho-hydrogen molecules and the group will stick together, as they pass through 3 or more cells that group together, increasingly, its proton travels in the same direction, when finally sent to the combustion chamber having 2 -1 / 2 times the explosive energy than gasoline!
Para-hydrogen, hydrogen molecules are to be implemented in whole, but the protons repel each other, so the group does not, that are less than combustive ortho-hydrogen. If ortho produce hydrogen, then this also creates deuterium, which is what you want. deuterium accumulated in the cylinder walls, the values of helping the oxidation happening.
Stan now uses a high width of cells with 3 tubes in a large tube. 12 "diva. And about 24" tall. Go look at your files.
To increase the power of hydrogen, deuterium irradiated to do. The extra proton was more than sufficient to allow the engine to achieve full power. Deuterium is good to get built up in your piston walls, from the hydrogen from water so the exhaust will not rust in the engine. AMSCO say synthetic oil helps to deal with the best water in the oil, which helps to vaporize the water molecules.
Unfortunately, state officials decided the radioactive source under the hood is not safe for widespread use. However, to allow Herman to continue driving the car and put about 30, 000 miles on hydrogen cars in operation. Realizing the technology can be improved, Herman returned to the drawing board.
It is a bit of irony in that is exactly what a Ballard fuel cell is also when in use in the new hybrid cars. The Ballard fuel cell to produce hydrogen is radioactively burn mixed with air and gasoline. The new hybrid cars are as safe, except using 1 / 2 gas and 1 / 2 power. The hybrids also contain radioactive batteries. The only difference was Herman's Wonderful car ran free and the new hybrid cars, you still have to buy gasoline.
If the average Green Dancing Machine Herman was at the heart of every reader who goes through a brain. Addicted to oil which is driving to work, paying the highest corp. the largest profit in American history ever! Last quarter 2004 profit of Exxon / Mobil surpassed the record for the biggest gain of 8 quarter million dollars. We are all guilty, unless the work on foot or riding a bike to enjoy an electric train.
The Green Machine also working on board electrolysis, which means to fill the tank of gas, Herman poured into distilled water.
certificate and a little electrolyte is KOH (1-5% solution in water, is all)
Yes there is a car that runs on water. " The car is parked in the research facilities at MTSU.
Like the Tesla statue at Niagara Falls, NY, is formed to one side. And Edison's bust is too big in the middle with lights shine on it. and even invented AC electricity, which is angry with the invention of Tesla AC and DC who made his look inefficient. Today, in our homes, we use AC electricity. May also have free wireless electricity. JP Morgan stop funding Tesla tower free electricity, because I could not find where to put the meter.

Lights out in 84 countries for Earth Hour 2009
McDonald's will even soften the yellow glow from some Golden Arches as part of the time zone-by-time zone plan to dim nonessential lights between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to highlight global climate change.
"Earth Hour makes a powerful statement that the world is going to solve this problem," said Carter Roberts, chief executive of the World Wildlife Fund, which sponsors Earth Hour. "Everyone is realizing the enormous effect that climate change will have on them."
Seven times more municipalities have signed on since last year's Earth Hour, which drew participation from 400 cities after Sydney, Australia held a solo event in 2007. Interest has spiked ahead of planned negotiations on a new global warming treaty in Copenhagen, Denmark this December. The last global accord, the Kyoto Protocol, is set to expire in 2012.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon encouraged the convention to reach a fair and effective climate change agreement and promoted Earth Hour participation in a video posted this month on the event's YouTube channel.
"Earth Hour is a way for the citizens of the world to send a clear message," Ban said. "They want action on climate change."
Other videos have been posted by celebrities such as rocker Pete Wentz and actor Kevin Bacon and WWF has offered Earth Hour iPhone applications. Search engine Yahoo! says there's been a 344 percent increase in "Earth Hour" searches this February and March compared with last year.
New studies increasingly highlight the ongoing effects of climate change, said Richard Moss, a member of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and WWF's climate change vice president.
"We have satellites and we have ships out at sea and we have monitoring stations set up on buoys in the ocean," Moss said. "We monitor all kinds of things people wouldn't even think about. The scientific research is showing in all kinds of ways that the climate crisis is worsening."
But not everyone agrees and at least one counter-protest is planned for Saturday.
Suburban Philadelphia ice cream shop owner Bob Gerenser, 56, believes global warming is based on faulty science and calls Earth Hour "nonsense."
The resident of New Hope, Pa., and owner of Gerenser's Exotic Ice Cream planned to illuminate his store with extra theatrical lighting.
"I'm going to get everyone I know in my neighborhood to turn on every light they possibly can to waste as much electricity as possible to underline the absurdity of this action ... by being absurd," he said.
Earth Hour 2009 has garnered support from global corporations, nonprofit groups, schools, scientists and celebrities — including Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett and the Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
McDonald's Corp. plans to dim its arches at 500 locations around the Midwest. The Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Fairmont hotel chains and Coca-Cola Co. also plan to participate.
Nearly 200 U.S. cities, towns and villages have signed on, from New York City — which will darken the iconic Empire State Building and Broadway marquees — to Igiugig, population 53 on Iliamna Lake in southwestern Alaska.
Among the efforts in Chicago, 50,000 light bulbs at tourist hotspot Navy Pier will dim and 24 spotlights that shine on Sears Tower's twin spires will go dark.
"We're the most visible building in the city," said Angela Burnett, a Sears Tower property manager. "Turning off the lights for one hour on a Saturday night shows our commitment to sustainability."
The Commonwealth Edison utility said electricity demand fell by 5 percent in Chicago and northern Illinois during last year's Earth Hour, reducing about 840,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions.
"It goes way beyond turning off the lights," said Roberts of the WWF. "The message we want people to take away is that it is within our power to solve this problem. People can take positive constructive actions."

Earth Hour 2009 – What Will You Be Doing?
Earth Hour is about taking simple steps everyday that collectively reduce carbon emissions - from businesses turning off their lights when their offices are empty to households turning off appliances rather than to leave them on hold.
Here are 10 ways to spend Earth Hour and reduce your carbon footprint:
1. Attend a local event Earth Hour or organize your own by starting a part of Earth Hour street with your neighbors
2. Gather family and friends for an evening picnic in your fleet and watch the stars
3. Enjoy a family dinner by candlelight
4. Organize a treasure hunt in the dark
5. Take the dog for a walk at night
6. A candle lit bath
7. Sit in the dark and tell stories
8. Organize a family night of games
9. Share a romantic night with your beloved
10. Send your "night" photos and videos from YouTube and Flickr, respectively, and then add them to the Earth Hour Flickr group and the world of YouTube.
Earth Hour Executive Director, Andy Ridley, is to encourage people to participate in the manner they choose and to think beyond the moment.
"There are no rules governing participation in Earth Hour. We do ask you to flick the switch and have fun doing what you do during this period.
Earth Hour Do you work for. Families with young children should not hesitate to turn earlier than the lights from 8:30 pm and for those who have too much fun in the dark for an hour, do not feel you must limit yourself to one hour and go to 9: 30. "

Earth Hour To Create Wave Of Participation Around The Globe
- More than 930 cities and towns in 80 countries in 25 time zones in power for Earth Hour 2009
- Global icons add lights to show
10 March 2009: At precisely 8.30pm on March 28, the diesel generators will be extinct in the Chatham Islands, a small archipelago off the east coast of New Zealand, heralding the beginning of the largest community event the world has ever known - Earth Hour 2009.
As the first country to browse through the passage of the global event, New Zealand WWF Earth Hour organizer Dairne Poole sees his country as playing a key role in Earth Hour path to reach a billion people in more 1000 cities in 25 time zones.
"New Zealand will be the first country in the world to turn off its lights for Earth Hour 2009, with 43 local councils and agencies to participate. Even though we are a small nation, we are setting an example for others to witness and we hope to follow, "says Poole.
The global wave of the momentum across Asia Pacific, with major cities like Sydney, Seoul, Beijing, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Delhi, Mumbai and dimming of lighting million flick the switch to express their concern for the planet.
In the world, Earth Hour will provide the platform for a collective voice to be heard from each and every time zone. In the streets of Cape Town for the hills of Los Angeles, the time the Earth will unite people from all walks of life that call for action on climate change is gaining transglobal.
Paris, the "City of Lights" will make a powerful statement by turning off its lights famous, including the Eiffel Tower, the Time of the Earth. In the cradle of democracy, thousands of Athenians will gather to watch lights the Acropolis in recognition of their right to vote for action on climate change.
Cities throughout the Americas, including New York, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, Buenos Aires, Chicago, Mexico City and Las Vegas, will see their voices accompanied by unknown lighting - stars.
Earth Hour Executive Director, Andy Ridley, said the Time of the Earth marks the beginning of the trip to Copenhagen, where the future of the planet depends on world leaders.
"Earth Hour will focus attention on the issue of climate change. We ask for a billion people to take part in what is essentially the first vote for action on climate change by off their lights for one hour and start a vote of the earth, "he said.
"Earth Hour hopes to give a mandate to act on climate change for world leaders at the UN conference on climate change in Copenhagen in December of this year, when an agreement will be made to replace the Kyoto Protocol.
"It is imperative that this agreement leads to a lasting result that adequately addresses climate change. Earth Hour is an opportunity for each person in the world to have its say in the outcome of this agreement and ensure that n is not merely a symbolic significant effort of our world leaders, "said Ridley.

Earth Hour Exceeds Target For Historic Event
• Global Earth Hour strengthen anticipation of historic events
12 March 2009: With more than two weeks to go before the world stops for Earth Hour, the number of cities and towns signed up to switch off their lights at 8.30pm, March 28 has already exceeded the ambitious goal set by the 1000 Earth Hour organizers.
Currently, 1189 towns and villages across 80 countries are committed, with more coming aboard every day.
From the Chatham Islands in the Arctic Wednesday, people from all over the world will turn off their lights for Earth Hour to vote for action on climate change.
The historic event will see millions of people gathered in parks, streets, squares and homes around the world to witness the lights out on the landmarks and icons of the city skyline, while in the unique atmosphere of an Earth Hour events.
In Sydney, where Earth Hour began in 2007, all ferries to the city's famous harbor sound his horn at precisely 8.30pm to announce the start of Earth Hour in Australia, Melbourne an entire people pedal powered concert will be under way at Federation Square.
On the other side of the world, provisions are made for a series of concerts and festivals in cities across Europe, including a "circle of percussion" in Athens, where people will have to play instruments percussion, led by a conductor, as the lights go on the Acropolis.
In downtown Oslo, members of the public to meet the challenge of selling power light bulbs, while residents in the city of Lisbon will sit at an evening outdoor lighted candles to eat as they watch their City silhouette is dark.
Earth Hour Executive Director, Andy Ridley, said the Earth Hour is more than a simple call to action on climate change.
"Earth Hour is an opportunity for the world community to speak in one voice on the issue of climate change, while at the same time, come together in celebration of the one thing that every person on the planet have in common - the planet, "he said.
Maintaining the levels of participation exceeded all expectations, with more cities and towns signing up every day to be a part of this historic event, the success of Earth Hour 2009, is limited only by the will of the world community to try to decide on the future of their planet.
"Whether to join your community in one place to watch the lights of the city will host a party of dark or light in your own home, I encourage everyone around the world to be part of this opportunity history. Turn off your lights, to celebrate the planet, enjoy the moment and cast your vote for the Earth, "said Ridley.

28 Million Scouts to Mobilise for Earth Hour
• Sweden ringing church bells, Sydney Ferries to the sound of horns
• National Education Association (U.S.) supports
Scouts, the largest youth movement with more than 28 million members in 160 countries, driving thousands of community groups around the world to mobilize their supporters for Earth Hour, as a matter of serious and sustained action on climate change.
"It is possible for everyone to take action against global warming," said Luc Panissod, Secretary General of the World Scout Movement, and James Leape, Director General of WWF International, in a joint letter for Scouting Network World earlier this month.
What has been described as "an opportunity to talk to your neighbors on the environment and climate change" is an expression of partnership between the Scouts and WWF that goes back decades.
"We see that the scouts from around the world have a great interest in the environment and are leaders in their community," said Luc Panissod. "Earth Hour is an opportunity for Scouts to demonstrate this commitment to the fight against climate change and to interact with family and friends. "
"Young people are very concerned about the future, and many are well aware that climate change is the greatest threat to the future of the planet. We are delighted that the Scouts are once again working with us to get the environment for generations to come, "said James Leape.
With more than 681 cities in 76 countries already registered to turn their lights on March 28, Earth Hour 2009 promises to be one of the largest voluntary actions that the world has ever seen.
Executive Director of Earth Hour, Andy Ridley, said the groups play a key role in getting more people around the world involved in the campaign of lights.
"Earth Hour is led by citizens and groups, to think globally and act locally. Whatever the size or small your organization, I invite you to participate in Earth Hour and really make a difference in your community and the world, "said Ridley.
Other community groups to ensure the widest possible participation in Earth Hour is the Church of Sweden, which rings its bells across the country to mark the beginning of the Time of Earth 8.30pm on March 28.
Sydney Ferries, which has been an enthusiastic supporter of Earth Hour since 2007, will be this year's survey the horns of all ferries operating on Sydney Harbor, announcing the Earth Hour in the city where the campaign began.
In the USA, the National Education Association, which represents 3.2 million teachers and education professionals, has also pledged its support to Earth Hour, as well as the 1.4 million strong American Federation of Teachers.

VOTE EARTH - YOUR LIGHT SWITCH IS YOUR VOTE
For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their lighting to their vote - Turn off the lights, is a vote for land, or leave, is a vote for global warming. WWF urged the world to VOTE EARTH and achieve the goal of 1 million votes, to be presented to world leaders at the World Conference against climate change in Copenhagen in 2009.
This meeting will determine the official policies of the government to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is an opportunity for people worldwide to make their voices heard.
Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned off their lights for one hour. In 2008, the message became a global movement for sustainability, with 50 million people to turn off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome, the Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and Coca Cola sign in Times Square all stood in darkness.
In 2009, Time of the Earth are taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people to turn off their lights as part of a vote. Unlike an election in history, it is not about what country you come from, but rather what you have on the planet. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business and every community. A call to stand and take control over the future of our planet. More than 74 countries and territories have announced their support of VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and that number increases every day.
We all have a vote and every vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet for future generations.
VOTE EARTH simply turning off the lights for one hour, and join the world of Earth Hour.

hydrogen powered vehicle : about BMW 750 hL
Since the 70s, BMW has been researching the future of mobility. The fruit of research is the new BMW hydrogen vehicle 750hL.
The heart of the 750hL is a hybrid of 12-cylinder combustion engine with two separate electronic control systems for induction of fuel. These systems allow 750hL to run on either gasoline (petrol) or hydrogen.
The 750hL is a hybrid 12-cylinder combustion engine capable of running on either gasoline or hydrogen. 5.4 liters of engine has two independent, electronically controlled systems for induction of fuel. Hydrogen offers an excellent torque and acceleration, while the specially insulated tank 140 liters of liquid hydrogen offers a range of 400 kilometers.
The process of engine:
Electricity generated from solar energy is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The oxygen is released into the atmosphere, while hydrogen is liquefied and stored at a very low temperature (-253 ° C).
During the internal combustion, hydrogen combines with oxygen. The resulting energy powers the vehicle, while the hydrogen is returned to the environment such as water. Harmful emissions are virtually eliminated.
By cooling hydrogen to -253 degrees Celsius, hydrogen is reduced to a thousandth of its original volume. 70 layers of aluminum foil and fiberglass between exterior and interior walls of the vehicle to ensure that the liquid hydrogen is maintained at extremely low temperatures.

Water Powered Car : Good future with this vehicles
It was a shame to know that he was poisoned (March 98 ') and already with us. He died in the parking lot of a restaurant in his hometown of Grove City, Ohio. Sharks came a week later and stole the the dune buggy and all experimental equipment, according to his brother, Steve. Stan said while he was alive, that he was threatened several times and not to sell to Arab oil Corp.s The military will use this technology in their tanks, jeeps, etc. He had patents on his invention and was ready for production. Only $ 1,500 to equip your car! Watch the videos above. No gasoline, just water. Stanley said he was offered one billion dollars from an Arab to his idea, basically the platform. Stan: "No, this technology is for the people." I guess you poisoned Stan? A spectator jealous? Do you think the Oil Corp. 's are happy to see a converted car running for FREE? Our own U.S. DOE, and the present administration are heavily involved in the oil business. If GW wanted my respect, I have inventors like Stan and me on television in the White House, discussing how to save this dying planet and break the bonds of corruption and greed ruled. I have read the DOE's hydrogen and fuel cell technology and not make mention of hydrogen from pure water, until the last page. They rather get hydrogen from hydrocarbons. No mention of "on-board hydrogen electrolysis" the Egas as you go. They talk about Hydrogen Gas Stations at how much per gallon?
So what is happening with Stan Great Invention of the 20th century! Absolutely nothing. Ã…re that the manufacture of his invention. NO, Why not? and to solve all the problems in the world today. That is not how politics work, money is the rule here. Common sense for humans is not only good for so-called terrorists and outlaws. Huh? We live in a time when we speak of good and evil and evil spoken as well. Why do I say this because it's true. We were told the U.S. twin towers was taken by aircraft, when the truth is that was taken by C4 explosives. William Rodriguez holds the master key, he was there that day, he lost his job and 250 of his friends and colleges. Connect the dots, it's that simple. I feel we have moved and face turn red, Building # 7, but fell by 7 seconds, not reported in the 911 commission report. Not that the construction of the aircraft concerned, only a few office fires occurred. It is too suspicious of me, and continues to stink like a dead rat.
All that talk of hydrogen gas stations run by Shell and is a Canadian oil company. After all the talk about "hydrogen fuel cell" having a life of burning gas to make a fuel cell. A factory of hydrogen fuel cells is a veritable factory of Smog. To explain reading. There are fuel cells are not as efficient as "On board Hydrogen Electrolysis" fuel cell. Stan made the gas as he drove, no hydrogen tanks, fuel cells do not, there is no need for Shell Hydrogen Stations. He spent 30 years of research by its own account.

Use electric power for car fuel (Electric Automobiles)
Here is the story: In 1930, Nikola Tesla asked his nephew, Petar Savo, who was born in Yugoslavia in 1899, to come to New York. Petar was 43 years younger than his uncle. Until then he had lived under stringent conditions in Yugoslavia, Tesla's country of birth. During the summer of 1931, Tesla took his nephew to Buffalo to unveil and test a new car. Tesla had developed their own personal funds.
It is a Pierce Arrow, one of the luxury cars of the era. The engine had been removed, leaving the clutch, gearbox and transmission to the rear wheels undisturbed. The gasoline engine has been replaced with a round, completely enclosed electric motor of about 1 m in length and 65cm in diameter, with a fan in the front. Presumably, it has no distributor. Tesla was not willing to say who had manufactured the engine. It is possibly one of the divisions of Westinghouse.
The "energy receiver" (gravitational energy converter) had been built by Tesla himself. The dimensions of the converter housing were approximately 60 x 25 x 15cm. Was installed in front of the dash. Among other things, the converter contained 12 vacuum tubes, of which three were from the 70-L-7 type. A large antenna approximately 1.8 meters long, came out of the converter. This antenna apparently the same function as in the Moray converter (see chapter on Radiant Energy). Furthermore, two thick rods protruded approximately 10cm from the converter housing.
Tesla pushed to say "We now have power." The engine reached a maximum of 1800rpm. Tesla said it was fairly hot when operating, and therefore a cooling fan is needed. In addition, he said there was enough energy in the converter to illuminate an entire house, besides running the car engine. The car was tested for a week, reaching a maximum speed of 90 miles per hour effortlessly. Its performance data at least comparable to that of an automobile using gasoline. At a stop sign, a passerby noted that no exhaust from the exhaust pipe. Petar answered "We have no engine." The car was kept on a farm, perhaps 20 miles outside of Buffalo, not far from Niagara Falls.
A few months after this test car, and due to the economic crisis at the time, Pierce Arrow had to stop production. It is very likely that the electrical interconnection between the engine and transmission has been made there. Pierce Arrow tools were purchased by Studebaker in South Bend. Not quite 30 years later, that company also vanished to form American Motors, along with Nash. Later, some of its fans attempted to resuscitate the Pierce Arrow. Unfortunately, were unsuccessful.
Thus, today the name of the company is in a mausoleum, along with others such as Horch, Maybach, Hispano-Suiza, Bugatti and Isotta Fraschini.

Top 5 worst packaging offenders
Plastic Takeout
I don’t know about you, but I always feel a little bit guilty each time I get takeout. It’s easy enough to choose a food and spend the cash, but convenient eating takes its toll on the environment. Several fast food outlets use plastic containers, at times separating each item to keep hot from cold. Unfortunately, these plastic containers cannot always be recycled due to the type of plastic used (#1 is the most commonly recycled). Also keep in mind that some plastics contain chemicals that can seep into your food. It’s a good idea to use your own reusable containers whenever possible.
Polystyrene Takeout
If you’re favourite takeout spots don’t use plastic, they likely use polystyrene foam (known to many as Styrofoam). While some cities across the country do recycle polystyrene foam, such as Toronto, many still do not, meaning that much of this will end up in landfills. Because of its chemical components (it starts with crude oil), the polystyrene will also not biodegrade making it particularly hazardous to the environment. It can also leech toxic chemicals into your food, such as benzene (a known human carcinogen) and styrene.
Microwave Popcorn
Trust me when I say that I enjoy a yummy bag of microwave popcorn as much as the next person, but it is sadly a huge packaging offender. Not only is there an outer cardboard box, but there’s also individually-wrapped bags, and then the paper used for the popcorn bags themselves. While the outer box can be easily recycled, the other components will likely end up in the trash. You should also be aware that some popcorn bags are reportedly coated with Teflon which can break down into a chemical that has been linked to cancer and birth defects in animals. Why not pop your own organic popcorn on the stove?
Pizza Boxes
Pizza is one of the most convenient and easy foods to eat – you just dial a pizza place, wait a short while and answer the door to accept your delicious pizza. However, there’s a much darker side to this tale: pizza boxes, if soiled, cannot be recycled. Although they are made from paper and many often include some post-consumer recycled fibres, the food residue from the pizza itself actually degrades the box and contaminates surrounding recycled materials. If your pizza box has a sheet of cardboard under the pizza that absorbs the grease, throw this into the organic food bin and recycle the intact cardboard of the box itself.
Pop Cases
Most of us probably don’t give a second thought to picking up a pack of pop at the grocery store but if you think about it in a bit more depth, pop cases are actually a huge waste of packaging. Sure, they’re easy to carry, but I can think of at least one other option that would be much greener. Why not sell canned pop in a reusable case complete with carry handle? I’ve seen these in use at the Beer Store here in Ontario and they work quite well. The strong cardboard structure doesn’t need to be ripped open as the cans simply slide into place and can be easily removed.

Dolphins are talented chefs
A female wild Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphin was observed that through the same series of complicated steps to prepare for eating cuttlefish dam in the Spencer Gulf in South Australia state.
"It's a sign of how well their brains are developing. It is a pretty clever way to get pure calamares without all the horrible bits, Mark Norman, the curator of mollusks at the Museum of Victoria and a member of the research team, told the Canberra Times newspaper.
The research team, writing in the scientific journal PLoS ONE, said repeatedly observed a dolphin breeding female cuttlefish of algae and weeds in a clear patch of sand from the seabed.
The dolphin, identified by scars circular body, then placed the cuttlefish with its snout, while standing on his head, before killing him instantly with a quick downward thrust and "high click" audible to divers as the hard cuttlebone broke.
The dolphin then lifted his body and hit with your nose to drain toxic black cuttlefish ink jet in the water to defend themselves when attacked.
Then the dam was taken back to the seafloor, where the dolphins were scraped sand along the strip of cuttlebone, making the soft sepia to eat.
Norman and study co-author Tom Tregenza, University of Exeter, said the behavior exhibited between 2003 and 2007 was unlikely to be a rarity.
"In addition to our observations, the bottlenose dolphins feeding in these spawning cuttlefish have been observed by divers in the area to perform the same sequence of behavior," they said in the study.
"The conduct of food here is specifically tailored to a single type of prey is impressive and the flexibility of the behavior of non-primate animal."
A 2005 study provided the first sign dolphins may be able to group learning and use of tools, with a mother to see their daughters to school to break the sea sponges and wear as protection of the seabed, while scouring that in Western Australia.
Mammals use the sponges as a kind of glove, "while the search for food, University of Zurich researcher said Michael Krutzen magazine New Scientist.
Other researchers have observed dolphins remove bones and break flatfish prey meters Golden trevally fish into smaller pieces for eating.

New Large Iceberg Breaks off Antarctica
The event is the latest in a series of breaks in the Larsen B ice shelf, which until recent years has suffered several millennia without such a big change. The break has coincided with warmer temperatures. The new iceberg is listed as A-53.
The last case is separate from one in January in which the world's largest known iceberg ran aground in Antarctica, snuggling up to a glacier known as the Drygalski Ice Tongue.
The new iceberg is about 16 by 35 nautical miles, according to the National Ice Center in Suitland, Maryland, which has controlled the satellite images of the Canadian Space Agency. Broke down January 31.
"Some of the icebergs of similar size that have been separated from the Larsen Ice Shelf have remained in the area for some time, while others have traveled to the north," said Sean Helfrich, a NOAA meteorologist at the National Center for ice. "A-53 can not leave the Weddell Sea this year, and can even break into additional icebergs sometime this year."
Iceberg names are derived from Antarctica, where the first quadrant of its vision. 53 A-53 is the card of the iceberg has been discovered in Antarctica in quadrant A, which includes the Bellinghausen / Weddell Sea region.

2010 Honda Insight - America's lowest-priced hybrid (2)
Rear seats once a 60/40 split, and they are flat, despite the fact that hybrid batteries are located under them. With the seats up Insight has 15.9 cubic feet of cargo space. With them is 33.9 cubic feet. Honda said the three golf bags fit in conjunction with the rear seat up.
The real story interior multidimensional Environmental Drive Assist system, which contributes to efficient driving techniques. More commonly known as EcoAssist, the system is an economical mode that is activated (see On the road), the functions of leadership and scoring functions. Leadership begins with the function of the digital speedometer, which is located on the upper level Honda signature bilevel instrument panel. It is the background that change colors depending on the technology driving. Go Hard on the gas and brake, and the background blue. Drive less aggressively and have blue-green. Be careful, and it becomes green. Those who want to get the ideal fuel economy will be taught to keep a green SPEEDO as often as possible.
Also included in the leadership of the various screens, multi-information display, which is mounted on the dashboard. The energy flow of the screen shows when the engine is providing the engine or vehicle, if the fuel is used, and when the engine is charging the battery. Another guide screen displays instant and average fuel economy, and another screen in the "Guide" Eco "Bar, which provides real-time information on the braking and acceleration techniques. The farther you move the bar from the center, the less effective you are driving.
Finally, EcoAssist scoring system is a function on two screens in a multi-information display. One screen shows a bar-graph fuel economy estimates for the current trip and for the last three trips. Other, more interesting screen growing leaves, which are the flowers, as you drive more efficiently. This screen points of each trip, and after being turned off the machine, provides the results.
On the road
The experience of driving in a lot Insight, like other Hondas. Steering is quite sharp, with good road feel and easy operation. The economy car Insight not sporting, but it is more stable and less prone to body lean in turns than the Toyota Prius, and many cars of similar size. Hustle Insight into the corner, though, and it is prone to understeer, the state in which the front end slides forward instead of turning, due mainly to attenuate the tires.
Then again, people will not buy Insight because it's sports. They are likely to view that a comfortable car, which had no more than humps or pound of cones. They also will not be a mistake for luxury cars, in part because there are some noticeable tire and wind noise.
Authorities predictably absent. In everyday terms Insight will keep up with traffic and shoppers will realize that they are trading power for fuel economy. Just do not expect to pass with ease.
Insight customers are more interested in hybrid drivers. IMA system disables the engine at stops and seamlessly turns it on again. Despite the fact that the engine can not power the car only when the dispersal of Prius system, it can serve as the sole source of power in the low-speed cruising situations. It takes light throttle foot to deal exclusively engine, and it did not last long. Using Econ mode dulls throttle and transmission response. It also reduces the fan speed fan, air conditioner works more often in the mode of recycling, making cruise control acceleration more conservative, and increases the use of idle stop function.
The right to you?
If you're looking for a small but roomy car, which puts a premium on fuel economy, the 2010 Honda Insight is right for you. Honda Insight strategy to make the lowest price of a hybrid in America will do its hybrid technology to more customers. Those who really wants to be green will benefit from Insight in EcoAssist system, which makes a fine teaching good driving habits.

Discuss: The Honda Insight hybrid Toyota Prius competitor for supremacy?
Dual front airbags, front side airbags, curtain side airbags, active front seat head restraints, tire pressure monitoring and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution are standard for all Insight TMK. Traction control and electronic stability control are standard on the EX TMK.
Under the hood
2010 Honda Insight functions of the next-generation Honda Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system. Honda says it has improved and strengthened its production methods to reduce the cost of a hybrid system. IMA system uses the electric motor and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) with the help of the motor and turn the 1.3-liter I-VTEC 4-cylinder engine from at stoplights. In some situations, sustained cruising, about 40 miles / h, the engine can move the car for a short period of time without power. Engine 88 horsepower and 88 pound-feet of torque. The combined output of 98 horsepower electric motor and 123 pound-feet of torque.
Customers will be most interested in the Environmental Protection Agency fuel economy ratings, which are 40/43 MPG (city / highway). This is less than 2 MPG on the road than the Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius trails 8 MPG in the city and 2 MPG on the highway. Insight is classified as Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV).
The interior of the
It argues Honda Insight hybrid is the cheapest on the market, it is not surprising that the interior reflects this fact. There is some evidence that the Insight is built on price, with a lot of hard plastic, cheap carpeting and few amenities. LX TRIMs absence of the center console, and the EX has a small console bin is a little more than elbow. Before the center console has a number of valuable space to put things. It can be transformed into a line and separate the various trinkets, but it is not a rubber mat to keep things from sliding around.

Blizzards and cold temperatures pound nation
It was so cold Wednesday in the northern state of Minnesota - 38 below zero at International Falls, with a chill wind at night is estimated at 50 below - that some ski areas are closed for the day.
Schools from Iowa to Ohio, opened late, so children should not be in the coldest part of the morning. In some schools closed.
The cold wave also depressed in the Northeast, dramatically reduces the temperature in New York in a single digits below zero - Tuesday, after reading in 30 years, National Weather Service said. Thermometers read 8 below at Massena, on the St. Lawrence River , a wind chill of minus 25 degrees.
Public transport in Albany, New York, collided with a chill 6 degrees, with brisk winds that feel like 15 below zero, but some people claimed they did not mind.
"I'm cold weather fan," said Geoff Plant Colonie, NY, as he sat reading a newspaper in Albany cafe. "I wanted to see a cold winter." Later, he said, he planned to go for a walk "to get some sun."
Not far from the shore of Lake Superior, Ironwood, Mich., Fell to 25 below zero around midnight, and then warmed up to 8 hours the next morning, only 8 below, the National Weather Service said.
Further south, the morning temperature was only 20 years from Texas to Georgia and along the Gulf Coast weather service reported only a low of 28 Mobile, Ala.
Cold was accompanied by ice and snow that glazed the pavement, and was the cause of numerous traffic accidents on Tuesday from Minnesota to Indiana.
Very cold was the cause of at least one person died on Tuesday. 51-year-old man died of cold in northern Wisconsin after wandering from his Hayward home.
Cold stores towing and auto repair companies are engaged through Wisconsin, as well as public works crews, with frozen pipes and water mains.
"We are working mainly in the 24 hours a day with broken chains," said Dave Goldapp with the Milwaukee Public Works.
As cold air pushed to the east of the country, there was a slight improvement on the northern Plains, where Grand Forks, ND, posted a low of 24 below zero, which is Tuesday at a record low of 37 below. In Minnesota, International Falls fell to minus 40 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the wind chill hit 58 below zero in northern Minnesota town of Hallock, but Mark Johnson said that as soon as temperatures reach a certain point, hail, is irrelevant. For example, he said, 38 degrees below zero, not much different from the 24 below.
"We kind of acclimated here in this country," he said. "Every year, in winter, he was going to get to this point. Just as if he does not remain as a whole month, you can do everyday to get through it."

gardening checklist
Everything you accomplish now will make spring that much sweeter.
Trees and shrubs
This month's tree and shrub tasks are all about planting, pruning and protecting.
If you live in a place that has mild winters, you can still plant trees of all kinds: fruit trees, shade trees and flowering trees; and choosing them is fun now, since nurseries tend to add their new selections in January.
On a day when temperatures are below freezing, plant new evergreens, rose bushes and deciduous shrubs.
While you shouldn't prune flowering trees until after they've bloomed, you can now prune most shrubs and deciduous shade trees.
When you notice new buds on deciduous trees, possibly late this month or in early February, give them their third and last shot of dormant spray -- follow the label's instructions and avoid spraying on days that are windy, rainy or below freezing.
Keep up with raking; fallen leaves can do heavy damage if left to smother grass.
If you have snowfall, knock snow off the branches of evergreens and fine-branched deciduous trees using an upward motion to keep limbs from breaking -- don't risk the benign fluffy stuff turning into ice overnight. If breakage does occur, prune broken branches.
Little live things
Wouldn't it be nice if birds ate slugs for a living? If you're a feeder of birds, don't stop now -- during this month they'll need all the help they can get, and it needn't be fancy. Birds will likely find any station above snow level, from old logs to carpet scraps.
Every slug you catch before it reproduces can spare you from facing several more generations. (And you thought rabbits were prolific.)
Maintenance
Take this chance to get sleek for spring. No, not to buff up for your getaway swimwear -- you know, the fun stuff. Machines. Tools.
Any machine repair you have done now will spare you spring headaches -- or at least a long wait in the queue that begins to form in February. Consider mowers, chain saws and other power tools.
Clean, sharpen and oil hand tools, from clippers to shovels.
Perennials
Even after the holidays, the catalog season continues.
Start planning your spring garden now by making a map of your garden, including what you'd like to plant where, with seed and bulb catalogs by your side for inspiration.
Clear away mulch from winter-blooming bulbs.
Dig up and divide winter-blooming bulbs after they've flowered.
In mild climates, you may still be able to plant hyacinths, tulips, daffodils and crocuses.
If an unexpected warm streak fools bulbs into thinking it's springtime, help protect them with an extra light layer of mulch.
Weeding
It's a nasty job, but unless your garden is buried under snow, somebody has to do it. Too bad weeds don't take winter vacations.
Many weeds are still merrily going through their flowering and seeding cycle even in January. Uproot them before seeds spread to spare yourself weeding future generations.
Winterizing
With winter in full force, there are several things you can do to protect challenged plants, trees, shrubs and even birds.
Don't haul that Christmas tree out to the curb just yet: Its branches can be used to protect tender plants and even root vegetables and perennials or to form a wind or sun shield for shrubs such as azaleas, rhododendrons, holly and boxwood. Or the full tree can be staked near a feeder to shield birds from cold. (Place far enough away to avoid accidents with cats.)
If you live in an area that has heavy winters and you haven't yet wrapped newly planted trees or thin-barked trees such as maple, ash, mountain ash and linden, do so now. Wrap from the base upward to repel moisture.
Keep protecting tender plants against freezes by covering them with burlap or other cloth supported by a perimeter of stakes; just don't let the cloth touch the leafy parts.
Houseplants
Winter houseplant care is more about attentive restraint than high maintenance.
When you water, which should be minimal during the winter, do it just enough so that water saturates the soil and comes through the drainage holes; at this time of year, plants left in standing water can suffer root damage.
Turn plants every two weeks for balanced foliage as they seek sunlight.
Check for pests in the greenhouse and on houseplants; treat with organic products so kids and pets aren't endangered.
Hold off on transplanting those plants whose roots are potbound.
On nights that are extremely cold, be sure to draw the curtains or blinds of plant windows.
