It wasn't an ordinary day the day I heard the news that Michael Hutchence was reported dead. I had freshly written a suicide note to my parents and was just going out the door to post it and then to go and jump off a bridge to commit suicide.

I was just passing though our lounge when the news reported that Michael had died and it was suspected that he committed suicide. I loved some of his bands INXS's songs and yet did not know much about Michael personally. I didn't know at that time he had written songs about coping with depression all I knew was that suddenly I wanted to live to see what this world full of "hypocrites" would say about his death.

The lot of jerks in this world call suicide to cowardly act and yet a man going over the trenches in Gallipoli to certain deathin a useless war is said to be the act of bravery.

As a person that has come to deaths door three times in my life I can say that I am somewhat of an expert on the thoughts of a person who wants to kill themselves and apart form being a person that finds more hope in death then living most often these people wrongly assume that they will lift a burden of their loved ones minds once they are gone.

It was with my letter in hand I went back into my bedroom and laid down and had to sleep. I got up later in the night and went to a local strip club where I was a local to hang out with some strippers that I loved and liked to be around.

For those of you that know me and my Christian writings you may be somewhat shocked with this admission of the club, but this was the lifesinful I was living at the time like the prodigal son.

I struck up conversation with the girls about Michael and whether they thought he committed suicide or not. Opinion was divided and we all were waiting for more news.

I went home early the next morning after a few drinks and went to bed. The next day I found out that Michael had been on the phone to several people that he had known the night that he died and had tried to get onto the mother of his daughter I think and had an argument with her current spouse.

I identified that phone ringing as a behavior of mine before I decided to kill myself. You want to make just one more friendly and loving contact with the people you love. And as my letter was ten pages long to my parents and family you try your best to make alogical argument why you have resorted to killing yourself. In that letter you are doing your best to remove the guilt from them that they will feel you are saying from the depths of your heart as good as you are at expressing yourself, sorry for leaving you behind.

You see, if I had cancer and died then my life would be missed but everyone would not feel guilty of my death. If I had Aids and died of an infection I picked up and my body could not fight, the people I know would be saddened by my death but they would not feel guilty or responsible in any way for my death. But somehow in this sick and "hypocrites" world we live in chronic clinical depression is NOT recognized as a potential fatal disease or state of mind.

Well folks I waited for what would be the conclusion ofthe matter and the press came out with this idea that Michael was committing some strange sex act of masturbation while chocking himself so as he could have a better thrill of it. They said by mistake he had killed himself and it was not intentional.

I beg to differ. Michael made all those phone calls to make contact with the people he cared about and have one last talk to them. This instead of a note was his way of saying goodbye. Yet by the time I had seen what the investigations and media had said my anger had led me away from taking my own life.

Three times I have decided and made plans to kill myself and three times God has allowed a person to help me come to my senses. The last time was a preacher on the streets of a city I used to live in that gave me a direct messageof God when I was on the way to see the strippers again and then kill myself. The preacher said that God had big plans for my life to help other people and tell them about Him and that He still had a few rough edges to take away from my life but in the future I am gong to be used.

Well some of the rough edges have come off my life. This past year since I have been writing articles the want to leave this world has finally left me and I am making a difference in the reader's lives.

I want to tell you that any person that has killed themselves that you know honestly tried their best to stay living. It's just that Satan and his demons and the clinical depression spoke to them and told them their was rest and peace in death. After all many gravestones have rest in peace written onthem.

I want to thank Michael for making the choice to die and wish his family lots of love and peace. I want to encourage all of you who wish to leave this earth behind to get to know God and the living power of the Holy Spirit. Find a Pentecostal pastor of a church that God speaks to and do what he says to do know God through His Holy Spirit can speak to you. Though our lives may be different now, with cool cars and the Internet and Mickey Dee's drive through ...we as Human Beings are the same as the people were when the bible was being lived out. Our feelings are the same, are thoughts are the same, our basic way of living is the same. God understood this so much better then we ever could. This is why he was able tocreate a book for us that would allow all of humanity, past and present and yes, even those yet to come in the future, to understand what he had to tell us.His message in all of mankind's existence has never changed. It is the same today as it was when your granny was able to ride her trike at top speed without breaking wind. And what is that message? That God loves us. We are his children and he wants us to be happy.God doesn't want to cause us to be afraid.But he does want us to know that he had a plan for us from the very moment he created us.And with every beginning, there has to be an end.

God explains the end to us. Its given to us in the final book of his word to us. God knows we are sinners. He also has told us from the beginning that we were created in sin.We are sinners whether we want to be or not! This is the difference between us and Jesus. Jesus was not conceived through sex.We were.

This is why Jesus was perfect and without sin.He was able to live the perfect life, doing God's will. God knows us all from the time we are conceived. he knows every deed we have done and and he has given us a way ofpurging ourselves from our sin.This is done through our acceptance of His son Jesus Christ. We lay our sin's on him and accept his gift of life.He took the punishment for our sin, so we don't have to.And as the wages of sin is death ...Jesus died in our place.He went into hell, released souls who had never known about the son of God, and fought death.Allowing God to raise him once more into life.

The End will come. It is going to happen. How? When? Its in the bible plain as day. It tells everything we need to know. It will happen when Jesus wants to let it happen. Only when Jesus is ready will it come to pass. Yet Jesus wont allow it until every living person has heard his word and is given the chance to redeem themselves through Christ.

Times are changing. This causes people tolook for signs. Signs could be anywhere, but God tells us to look to the sky.Look up and be amazed at the wonders god will set in heaven as signs of Jesus ' coming. The Bible says in the end times weather will be unprecedented. I don't know about you, but in all of my 45 years Ive never seen Thunder snow.This is a new one on me.

When God is ready to sound the trumpets and when Jesus is ready to return, we will not have to be afraid. This isn't a bad thing, it is a glorious new beginning andthose of us who have turned from sin and who live in Jesus and allow him to exist through us, doing good deeds for others, living decent and pure lives will have nothing to be afraid of at all. We can rejoice and praise our Lords glory because we know that this is not the end, just the beginning of God's kingdom on earth.

Desertification is the process whereby land areas originally supporting plant growth and human economic activities continually become deserts. The process is rendered many surfaces of the Earth uninhabitable and displacing communities originally residing in such areas. This has significantly reduced arable and pastoral lands and caused land-related conflicts between groups who are moving away from the deserts and the indigenous communities. Deadly tribal and/or religious conflicts witnessed recently in Nigeria are attributed to conflicts over land use between the southern agrarian communities and the northern pastoral nomads. According to Aljazeera news bulletin of March 31, 2010, the Sahara desert is to blame for forcing the pastoral communities southwards in search of groundbaitleading to the conflicts.

Environmentalists and some climate scientists are blaming desertification on human economic activities. These groups maintain that by deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions, humans are contributing to global warming and desertification. Their contention is that humans can mitigate desertification by planting more trees and reducing greenhouse gas emissions especially CO2.

As hot deserts spread, many rivers and lakes are drying up in all of the world's five continents (2007, WWF Vietfun 2009). But the magnitude of desertification and its history raise questions as to whether humans are really responsible for this phenomenon. This also raises another question as to whether the methods being used in combating desertification areapply.

According to ' Global Desertification-The Israeli Experience, ' "desertification is nothing new ... desertification was part of the natural development of our planet." The United States Geological Society (USGS) concurs thus; "the world's great deserts were formed by natural processes interacting over long intervals of time. During most of these times, deserts have grown and shrunk independent of human activities. "

In the early ages human populations were relatively low for which reason it was possible to live as hunters and gatherers. The low population meant little pressure was exerted on the natural environment and it is not possible that their action caused deserts to occur. We learn From history that people have lived in deserts through nomadic lifestyles. Thenomadic people adapted themselves to desert life by keeping livestock and migrating from regions worst hit by drought to relatively better areas in search of water and groundbait. There is no evidence that pastoralist communities once practiced crop farming in the process of which they cleared the forests and later changed their lifestyles. Neither has it been observed that people change from crop farming to pastoral or nomadic lifestyles.

Places do not turn into deserts simply because forests have been cleared for crop farming. Instead they continue to support plant life much like they would support forests. It is true deforestation leads to soil erosion. But soil erosion is not desertification. A place can not turn into a desert because its top soils have been washed away. Desertsoccur because of excess heat which dry the soil and kill its nutrients.

Before blaming desertification on human economic activities, it is necessary to identify what caused deserts in the early ages and if and when these forces stopped acting. If they are still acting then we need to know to what extent they are responsible and to what extent humans are responsible if indeed they really are.

For along time humans were known to think with prejudice that they were God's special creation. This is characterized in religious books like the Bible today. But Charles Darwin and other evolutionists rubbished such ideas and endeavored to relate humans with other animals. This leads to major development in medicine especially when humans used animals to study the functioning of organismsand later used their findings to improve human health.

It is unfortunate that today anthropocentric thinking is manifesting itself in sciences which are shallow-rooted and inhibiting research and development similar to what transpired in the Dark Ages when the likes of St. Augustine of Hippo were considered thinkers.
