I would get up in the mornings and put my clothes on and then put a hoodie on over that and find my warm house shoes to keep me from freezing because we had the heater turned down in order to save on energy. Then we'd go to the stove and sit in front of it to get warm enough to start our day just because we were afraid our electricity bill was going to be too high for us to pay. I hope you don't face such extreme situation.
There have been times that my daughter has even had to call the electric company to get an extension because the cost of electricity is going up so much. We have also read about Need Lines and other groups that are there to help those that cannot afford to pay their electricity bills pay their bills. It is awful that we have to struggle and pinch eachpenny just to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It is such a crunch on the elderly budgets and they cannot get any more money that is coming in to them monthly. Why can't there be a way to help these poor people.
